Retired from the business of business at able ages, my partner and I could move to anywhere in the world. Montreal, Chicago, and Cincinnati made the short list because each has a river running through it.
Betty Jane is the vintage Chris-Craft we restored together. She is no fun on a dammed up resevoir like Lake Texoma whence we came. Instead, we satisfy her wanderlust on America’s rivers. Montreal’s boating season is about three days long. A covered slip is unavailable anywhere closer to Chicago than Green Bay. Cincinnati has a brilliant symphony orchestra in a dynamite room. Our adventures in Ohio’s Queen City reside here. A book about the river writes itself.
